Why You Need Me For Your Bookkeeper!
Having a bookkeeper can significantly ease the life of a business owner in numerous ways. Primarily, it frees up the business owner’s time, allowing them to focus more on strategic planning and growing their business rather than getting bogged down with the day-to-day financial record-keeping and transactions.
TAX COMPLIANCE
Tax preparation and compliance can become a major issue. Inaccurate financial data can result in incorrect tax filings, potentially leading to penalties, fines, or audits from tax authorities. This not only affects the business financially but can also consume a significant amount of time to rectify.
ACCURATE REPORTING
If your QuickBooks accounts are not balanced, it means your financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, will not accurately reflect the financial status of your business. This can lead to misguided decision-making because business decisions often rely heavily on these financial reports.
TIME AND MONEY
The incorrect use of QuickBooks can lead to wasted time and money spent correcting errors. Maintaining clean books monthly is more cost effective than performing a major clean-up after the fact. Outsourcing an experienced bookkeeper saves payroll costs such as payroll tax and benefits, and offers more flexibility than having an in house employee .
FINANCING
Lenders and investors often require detailed financial reports before they decide to offer financing. Inaccurate reports due to an out-of-balance or neglected QuickBooks file can make it difficult to secure loans or investments, limiting your business’s growth opportunities.
LOCAL AND EXPERIENCED
I have done way too many clean up jobs from bookkeepers hired from overseas for $10/hr, or from a fly by night – “I took a one hour course from an Instagram ad I saw that told me I could make six figures in the first couple months” person … and trust me, there are a lot of those out there! Business owner usually don’t realize that their books are messed up until tax time and then end up spending more to fix it – and quickly – than to have it done right from the start.
A SENSE OF HUMOR
Bookkeeping is the adult equivalent of doing homework every day for the rest of your life—but instead of getting graded, you get tax deductions (if you’re lucky). It’s a job where the closest thing to a cliffhanger is whether or not you’ll find that one elusive receipt. Bookkeeping is like the broccoli of the business world: it’s good for you, but nobody’s ever excited to see it on their plate. Talking to your bookkeeper is like being stuck in a conversation about socks—essential, but you wish it was over faster. We strive to keep bookkeeping light and fun, knowing that everyone dreads the follow up email asking “What was that charge for?”

Service Industry Businesses
Service-based industries encompass a wide array of sectors that primarily offer intangible products or expertise to their customers, rather than physical goods. Service-based industries focus on delivering knowledge, experiences, and outcomes. The hallmark of service-based industries is the direct interaction between the service provider and the consumer, aiming to fulfill a demand, solve a problem, or enhance the consumer’s quality of life. Examples include healthcare (doctors, dentists, chiropractors, therapists), legal services, construction (plumbing, roofing, general contractors), real estate agents and property managers, consultants, hairdressers, dance and martial arts studios, gyms, personal trainers, marketing and advertising, and pet care.
Bank Transaction Categorization and Reconciliation
This process begins with the importation of bank and credit card transactions into QuickBooks, where they are then matched or categorized according to the nature of each transaction, such as income, expenses, assets, or liabilities. Reconciliation is the next critical step, where we compare QuickBooks records against bank statements to verify accuracy and ensure that every transaction is accounted for. This process helps in identifying discrepancies, preventing financial errors, and maintaining an up-to-date and accurate representation of your business’s financial health. Through careful categorization and diligent reconciliation, your business can maintain precise financial records, efficient tax preparation, and make informed financial decisions.
Payroll Administration
Running payroll through QuickBooks is a streamlined process designed to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, while also managing payroll taxes and compliance.
Employers can then issue payments to employees directly through direct deposit or by printing checks. Finally, QuickBooks offers the capability to file and pay payroll taxes electronically, ensuring compliance with tax laws and simplifying the payroll process. This comprehensive approach not only saves time but also reduces the likelihood of errors, making it a reliable tool for managing payroll efficiently. We also offer the option for you to run payroll yourself through Quickbooks or any other outside payroll company, and we will reconcile monthly or quarterly to check for accuracy.
Journal Entries
Journal entries in QuickBooks serve a fundamental purpose in the accounting process, acting as a way to record transactions that cannot be entered through the software’s standard sales or expense features. These entries are crucial for adjusting the accounts to accurately reflect complex financial transactions, such as loan payments, depreciation, or the allocation of expenses among different departments. By creating a journal entry, we manually input debits and credits into specific accounts, allowing for precise control over the financial data and ensuring the books remain balanced. This method is essential for maintaining an accurate and comprehensive record of a company’s financial transactions, facilitating the correction of errors, and making adjustments for end-of-period closing entries.
Class Accounting
Class accounting for businesses with multiple locations is a strategic approach to financial management and reporting, where each location operates as its own cost center or profit center. In this setup, “classes” are used to categorize income and expenses for each individual location, allowing the business to track financial performance on a location-by-location basis. This method is particularly beneficial for organizations seeking to assess the profitability, operational efficiency, and financial health of each site independently, while still maintaining an overview of the company’s overall financial status. In essence, class accounting for separate businesses offers a structured and insightful way to manage and evaluate the financial performance of multiple business ventures, driving strategic growth and operational efficiency.
1099/1096 Administration
The 1099 process involves the preparation and filing of 1099 forms, which are used by the IRS to report various types of income other than wages, salaries, and tips. This process is typically required for businesses that engage independent contractors or freelancers and pay them $600 or more in a financial year. The payer (business) must complete a 1099-NEC form for each qualifying contractor, detailing the amount of non-employee compensation paid throughout the year. This form must be sent to the contractor and the IRS by January 31st following the tax year in which the payments were made. For other types of payments, such as rent or interest, different versions of the 1099 form, like 1099-MISC or 1099-INT, may be used.

About Me
I am a mom, wife, health food addict and entrepreneur. I co-founded a Mixed Martial Arts business almost 20 years ago which is still thriving today. I learned bookkeeping (which I fell in love with), marketing, web design and so much more. I went on to get my real estate license in Arizona which I keep current and then opened my own Bookkeeping company. As a fellow entrepreneur, I understand the ins and outs of running a small business, and would love to help you succeed!
Besides having my own clients, I work with a local CPA firm, and am entrusted with the bookkeeping for over 50 of their tax clients. This keeps me up to date with the latest tax laws so I am able to help my clients better. I am well versed in, and most enjoy working with the service industry and in particular, real estate agents.
If you sell your talents/services and not physical products, and have decided that you do not have the time for, or do not like bookkeeping, I would love the opportunity to work with you!
